Amber, the dog is not in the mood for sharing, and is not deterred by Little skunk’s secret weapon. A very stinky pursuit occurs as Amber angrily defends her turf and her food. Little Skunk is terrified as he races to hide somewhere. He cries out for his Mama and regrets leaving his den to follow the enticing smell, instead of following his Mama’s words to stay in the den.

The dog finds Little Skunk just as the family arrives on the scene. The young boy Mac suggests that the family, give the bowl of dog food to Little Skunk as their Christmas present to him. To Little Skunk’s amazement, relief, and delight, the family kindly yields to the Christmas Spirit of Giving and agrees to Mac’s wild suggestion. Everyone is happy.

As the family heads inside for their dinner, Mama Skunk arrives to share the delectable dog food dinner with her son and they celebrate their 1ST Annual Skunk Family Christmas Present Feast.

Both families are pictured on the last pages, enjoying their separate Christmas dinners. And they all had a very, stinky, but very Merry Christmas.

Jane wrote her first poem at age 6, emphatically stating that she liked bees and trees but hated peas. She has been writing and rhyming ever since. Before writing children’s books, Jane was an RN, a School Board Director, an educator, a counselor, a business woman, a community leader, and an artist.

Her enduring passion is to draw people out, encourage their growth & healing, and delight in their flourishing & fulfillment. She is a mother of 4 and grandmother of 2, and currently lives in sunny Carmel Valley, California.
