ReadersMagnet, a leading publishing and marketing company, will exhibit “Doc Slik: Not A Life Of My Own” by Jack Van Der Slik at the 2023 Printers Row Lit Fest. The outdoor literary event will occur on September 9-10, 2023, at Printers Row Park, 620 South Dearborn Street, Chicago, IL, USA. The Printers Row Lit Fest is the largest outdoor literary showcase in the Midwest, drawing over 100,000 visitors. The two-day free event showcases the works of more than 200 authors and features activities for authors and book lovers, such as panel discussions and book exhibits.

Jack Van Der Slik’s “Doc Slik” tells the story of a teacher born as an ordinary child in the Midwest. Raised by Christian parents, he developed his faith and pursued a career in higher education. Despite facing obstacles related to family and academia, he persevered and succeeded. The teacher’s experiences also involve American politics and promoting democracy domestically and internationally. Unfortunately, he was unable to prevent the election of President Trump.

“Doc Slik” is an adventure in self-discovery. Jack Van Der Slik must first learn, then teach; study politics, then write and publish articles and books about it; experience democracy in America, then praise it worldwide. By God’s grace, his life is blessed and rewarded. His life’s story reveals what he has to be humble about through his journey.

Jack Van Der Slik’s “Doc Slik” is timely and inspirational, delving into American politics and the triumph of a courageous man blessed by God. Get a copy on Amazon and Barnes & Noble. Check out the book’s display at ReadersMagnet’s exhibit at space R at the 2023 Printers Row Lit Fest.
