At Printers Row Lit Fest 2023, Judith Cottingham Perkins’ Memoir is Set to Share the Life of Her Family’s Many Generations

It turns out that not all memoirs are just about the author. Judith Cottingham Perkins, a motorhome traveler who visited all 48 states, is a recently published author whose book doesn’t just share her life. It shares the stories of the many people who came before her. Titled “Life and Love Continue,” it’s a remarkable project where individual accounts are weaved in the larger, centuries-long tapestry of history. This book is also set to be exhibited at this year’s Printers Row Lit Fest.

“To my Grandchildren, Great-Grandchildren, and those that follow…”

The Printers Row Lit Fest celebrates more than just books. It celebrates a well-known aspect of Chicago’s history and culture. Printers Row was once the home of many publishing houses that helped authors pull off ambitious projects, be it poetry, fiction, or books sharing knowledge on a wide range of subjects.

Incidentally, Judith Cottingham Perkins just happens to be exhibiting a book where history is also very close to home. Her book, “Life and Love Continue” is a collection of personal accounts as well as smaller biographies that combine into a full history of her family.

The main idea behind the book had its start when Perkins realized she was in a very rare position to have grown up with her great-grandmother along with her other grandparents. The memories she had with them, as well as the personal stories they passed down to her, were just too valuable to not write down.

They are now neatly recorded and refined in her new book, “Life and Love Continue.” Some of the accounts shared within date back even all the way to the 1800s and feature a number of older relatives who lived in completely different time periods. It’s then followed by the decades of Perkins’ own youth, her professional career, and the grand motorhome adventure she and her husband went on where they drove through 48 states.

Visitors to the Printers Row Lit Fest 2023 can learn more about the rich details of Judith Cottingham Perkins’ family history when “Life and Love Continue” goes on display at the self-publishing and book marketing company ReadersMagnet’s exhibit. The fest is already set to take place on September 9-10, 2023, at Printers Row Park, 620 South Dearborn Street, Chicago, IL, USA. Get a copy of the book on Amazon and Barnes & Noble.
