Sherry Dee Lady was born in Portland, Oregon, and raised on a farm in rural Yamhill County, Oregon. She attended the Oregon College of Education, where she received her bachelor’s degree in education. She later received her Master’s degree from the University of Oregon.

She obtained 48 hours of postgraduate credit in theater while being involved as an elementary classroom instructor for 30 years. She was married to her husband, Robert, who was also in education, for 58 years until his passing in 2016. They had two children, Julie and Jeff; eleven grandchildren; and now Sherry is the great-grandmother of three active young people.

All live in other states but are very connected and supportive of each other. Sherry loves anything related to music, traveling, theater, movies, and all forms of the arts. Meeting new people and keeping friendships alive also gives her great pleasure. She has been a writer in various genres for many years. This is her first published book.
