The book fair occurred on July 19-25, 2023, at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, Hong Kong.

Many women in prison have been subjected to physical or sexual abuse by men. These women could be any woman, but unfortunately, they lost their way regarding their mental, physical, emotional, or spiritual well-being. Author Mae Dixon believes that sharing their experiences is helping them regain their self-esteem and reclaim their lives.

Mae Dixon’s book is anchored on the shocking increase of incarcerated women by over 475% between 1980 and 2020, going from 26,326 to 152,854. Her book discusses how the lack of access to proper drug treatment can be attributed to the war on drugs over the last two decades, increasing the number of imprisoned women.

Mae Dixon is a dedicated community advocate who supports survivors of domestic violence and advocates for social justice. Additionally, she is a certified spiritual healing life coach and an accomplished public speaker. Dixon has written and facilitated several empowerment programs aimed at helping women and youth.
