Author’s Biography

Redemption Song was made famous by the late Bob Marley in 1980, however, some of the lyrics speak volumes about how this woman has evolved over the past 20 years to becoming Dr. Sharon Arrindell (formerly Smith/Koen), AKA Dr. Sharon. Though seemingly quiet and unassuming, place writing tools in her hands, or put her in front of an audience and she will tell you her Redemption Song. A native of Jamaica West Indies, she relocated to the United States in September 1970 with her parents. She attended Grace Gospel Chapel in Harlem New York for 17 years, and became a member of Bethel Gospel Assembly also in Harlem in 1987. This is where a life of ministry truly began for Dr. Sharon, as she sought to follow the inscription written on the outside wall of that church, “Enter to Learn Go Forth to Serve.”

After many years in the fashion business, Dr. Sharon pursued a career in counseling. She spent four years, working with autistic children in NY; and has worked for eleven years as a school counselor in Florida. She spent many years in NY as a Sunday school teacher, youth leader and Bible college teacher. She was also a youth pastor in Port St. Lucie Florida for four years. She is a licensed pastoral counselor and has a part time Christian counseling practice called Wholeness Counseling Service. Her services are offered via most virtual platforms. She is the president of Inspired Wholeness Ministries, where she is allotted the opportunity to speak at women’s retreats and conferences, inspiring women who have been broken, to pick up the pieces of their lives and become whole. She has been given the opportunity to speak at different venues in the US, and also in the Caribbean. Dr. Sharon was featured in Women of Distinction Magazine in January 2016.

She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Organizational Management, a Master of Science Degree in Counseling from Mercy College, graduating Suma Cum Laude, and a Doctorate in Biblical Studies/Biblical Counseling from Master’s International University of Divinity, graduating with honors. She is currently pursuing an Ed. D. specializing in higher education, from North Central University. Dr. Sharon is the author of six published books “Christian Divorce Wars,” “Weapons for Victory,” “31 Days of Wholeness,” “Newbies in the Kingdom,” “Embracing Our Queenly Anointing” and “The Shepherd’s Call: Revised Study Guide.” She also started a women’s magazine called “The Bridge” in 2016. She is an ordained pastor under the FIRM (Federation of Independent Revolutionary Ministries). Dr. Sharon has been an adjunct professor for the past thirteen years working at Indian River State College and Palm Beach Atlantic University in Florida. She is also an associate pastor at FCWC (First Community Worship Center) in Port St. Lucie, Florida, under the leadership of Pastor Andrew McDonald.

Her desire is to help bring lasting change for people at large, and women, especially; and her purpose scripture is Jeremiah 29:11. She lives in Florida, with her husband Keith Arrindell. She has two grown children (Shanae and Jason), a son in law (Nick), a daughter in law (Cabrea) and four grandchildren (Ian, Leilani, Caleb and Myla) who are her pride and joy. Visit her at:
