Ariston P Awitan Jr. was born and raised in the remote area in the Philippines. This book is a story of his struggles, failures and successes. It is about his resolve and determination to achieve his full potential maintaining a strong faith in the Lord Jesus who strengthened him. His toughness and goal-oriented character brought him to heights he had dreamed of and was able to overcome the great obstacles along the way.

He succeeded in obtaining a degree of Doctor of Medicine from the most prestigious College of Medicine in his country, University of the Philippines; finished his surgical residency training at the Philippine General Hospital; finished his U.S. orthopedic residency training at the Martland Hospital, New Jersey College of Medicine, Newark New Jersey; was certified Diplomat by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery; became a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons; had a successful orthopedic surgery practice for 33 years in Pasadena, Texas; obtained the rank of Major, United States Army Reserve Medical Corps; served as Orthopedic Surgeon at the Randall Medical Center, a U.S. Army Hospital at Fort Hood, Killeen Texas; served as Occupational Medicine Physician at Nova Medical Center in Houston, Texas for 7 years; Achieved two Black Belts in Martial Arts: Tae Kwon Do (Korean Karate) and Kali Silat (Philippines Stick-Fighting Martial Arts); Became a Health Researcher for 5 years on Causes and Treatment of Chronic Diseases; his life pride is the education of his four children in Texas Universities.

He was married four times and three of his wives died of Cancer; he has four children, five grandchildren and four great grandchildren; He is a Fourth Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus. He believes if you do your best to achieve your full potential, Jesus strengthens you but the bottom-line of what will happen to you in life is according to God’s Will, not your own, because God has already a plan for you before you were born. He retired in Palm Coast Florida where he met his fourth wife, Josephine W. Phillips. At this writing, Dr. Awitan is 91 years old, still healthy and spends his time reading and writing books about his experiences hoping to touch the lives of young people; and with what he learned about the truth of medical treatment of chronic diseases, he hopes to help and educate people about their health issues and longevity.
