Adam Radel joins HNTB as manager of spatial strategy

Brings nearly two decades of experience in the creation, implementation and management of GIS and IT projects in both the public and private sectors

CHICAGO – WEBWIRE

HNTB announced that Adam Radel, GISP, has joined the firm as manager of spatial strategy in its digital transformation solutions group. Radel brings years of experience managing diverse projects and multi-million-dollar budgets, as well as a deep passion for problem solving, to this new role.

As manager of spatial strategy, Radel will continue developing and growing HNTB’s innovations in the digital delivery of infrastructure projects, with an emphasis on HNTB’s unique “integration without translation” approach to realizing digital twins at each stage of a project lifecycle. Core to this approach, and another responsibility of Radel’s, will be to lead the firm’s applications of unmanned aerial systems that incorporate data automation, extraction and post-processing elements and the use of artificial intelligence for more versatile planning and design derivatives.

“We are thrilled to welcome Adam to our growing geospatial and virtual design and construction teams,” said Jeff Siegel, GISP, HNTB digital transformation solutions director and vice president. “Adam’s ability to utilize technology to solve real-world problems and his enthusiasm for improving transportation and infrastructure will be tremendous assets for our team and clients.”

Prior to joining HNTB, Radel served as the IT director for the Utah Department of Government Operations where he managed, planned and strategized the department’s budget. Additionally, he led the department’s IT groups in application modernization to ensure the department was well-equipped for the future. Radel also previously served as the data and analytics manager for the Utah Department of Transportation where he managed several contracts and IT-centric projects.

Radel holds a graduate certificate in GIS from the University of Denver and a Bachelor of Science degree in geography from the University of Idaho. He also holds a GIS Certificate from the University of Idaho.
