“The events I’ve seen during my life leads me to believe just what the good book says – the only thing that has never changed in the past, present, or future is – God.” Walter Hoge

In his book, “Thoughts on My Thoughts: The Tales That Wagged This Veterinarian”, Walter Hoge gives a captivating narrative on his journey to becoming a veterinarian.

“Thoughts on My Thoughts” is no ordinary biography. Walter Hoge effectively injected warmth and humor in his recollection of snippets from his past, from moments when he started school, his appreciation for his teacher, Mr. Lovell, to his experience in high school working for a mental hospital, and so on. Walter also shared some of the medical experiences and treatments he witnessed that helped form his impressions of life and evolution. Of course, the book also notes some of the animals that Walter gets to work with.

Throughout the memoir, Walter is consistent in showing his passion for animals. He described the 1952 Miller-Urey experiment by Stanley Miller but also greatly acknowledged “that man has never created a living organism from basic matter that makes up the earth and given it the “spark of life” and the ability to regenerate itself.”

Renowned agency BlueInk Review says this about the book:

“In “Thoughts on My Thoughts,” an American veterinarian in practice since 1973 recollects the loved ones—humans and animals—who helped him craft a fulfilling life of service… Hoge clearly demonstrates his ability to love and learn from everything around him.”
