Although the events are only temporary, to the boy, they seem all encompassing and never-ending, as such events often can seem to children. As the boy accepts the challenge to “Choose Fun” and to consider a change of focus and perspective, he learns to find the fun and growth that can be had in the midst of difficult circumstances. He learns resilience, which is an extremely valuable life-long lesson and tool to have.

Jane Carey wrote her first poem at age 6, emphatically stating that she liked bees and trees but hated peas. She has been writing and rhyming ever since. Before writing children’s books, Jane was a Registered Nurse, a School Board Director, an educator, a counselor, a business woman, a community leader, and an artist.

Her enduring passion is to draw people out, encourage their growth & healing, and delight in their flourishing & fulfillment.
