Gripping Cross-Country Drama by Dennis Jung Lands Exhibit Spot at the 2023 Frankfurt Book Fair

Every year, thousands of publishers assemble at the Frankfurt Book Fair (Frankfurter Buchmesse) to share industry insights, network with authors, and offer excited readers a chance to check out the latest publications. It’s great opportunity for us to feature Dennis Jung’s latest novel, “The Siren’s Refrain.” The story relates the struggle between two complex individuals attempting to reconcile their twenty-five year on and off again love affair.

“I’ve read all of Dennis’ books...each one builds on his personal writing growth, great story telling skill, authentic geographic location descriptions, and he puts his heart into each one...your interest is kept until the end! The Siren’s Refrain moves one to think about aging, illness, never-lost love, and an ending left up to where the reader needs to go...” – Marvin J. Godner

For many literature aficionados in Germany, the Frankfurt Book Fair (Frankfurter Buchmesse) is an exciting opportunity to check out new stories by authors familiar and new. Likewise, it’s an opportunity for international publishers to get together and talk about industry innovations that will better help them reach new audiences.

In the midst of it all, longtime novelists like Dennis Jung see it as another great opportunity to showcase their newest work and their latest attempt to steer their writing toward a different direction.

Jung is the author of nine novels, four of which were selected as a finalist sin the New Mexico-Arizona Annual Book Awards. The hallmark of his stories is his use of visual imagery in depicting the settings of his stories, but also his exploration of the emotional landscape of his characters.

This writing focused on stories about imagined global conflicts, fleeing refugees, and the suspenseful international journeys of its protagonists.

In this latest novel, “The Siren’s Refrain,” a Leon Riser, renowned travel writer facing middle age and terminal illness, must set aside his limitations and conflicted emotions to assist his former step-daughter in the search for his estranged, former lover, the famous singer- song writer, Lou Ann Catskill, who has gone missing. Their parallel journeys force them both to reexamine some of the seminal chapters in their relationship and the bonds that both enabled and threatened their connection. Their story explores themes of mortality, aging, love, and regret.

Visitors to the Frankfurt Book Fair (Frankfurter Buchmesse) have a chance to check out “The Siren’s Refrain” when it goes on display at the self-publishing and book marketing company ReadersMagnet’s exhibit. The event will be on October 18-22, 2023, at the Frankfurt Trade Fair grounds, Ludwig-Erhard-Anlage 1, 60327 Frankfurt am Main, Germany.
