Judith Perkins’ Memoir of Multiple Generations to Tell Its Story at the San Diego Union-Tribune Festival of Books 2023

Most memoirs tell only the story of the person writing it. But for Judith Cottingham Perkins, a motorhome traveler of 48 states, her memoir tells both her story and the stories of many who came before her. All of it can be found in her book Life and Love Continue, a compilation of both childhood memories and the meticulous work of tying them to a bigger family history. This dedicated work will be exhibited by self-publishing and book marketing company ReadersMagnet at the San Diego Union-Tribune

“To my Grandchildren, Great-Grandchildren and those that follow…”

The San Diego Union-Tribune Festival of Books celebrates not only the printed page but the stories told on them. Dozens of biographies and memoirs will be exhibited at the event.

Judith Cottingham Perkins is one writer who believes her story should also tell the story of entire generations. These are all compiled in her book, “Life and Love Continue.”

Perkins had the most remarkable privilege of being close to a great-grandmother and at least three different grandparents during her lifetime. Each one told her remarkable stories from their time.

Now, being 80 herself and also a grandmother to a few younger generations, she published the book to preserve the history of her family. Until then, many of the stories found in its pages were passed down orally and were in danger of being forgotten.

The stories told in “Life and Love Continue” date all the way to the generation of the 1800s. The first chapters give a brief biography of Perkins’ great-grandparents and several relatives. It then moves on to stories across the decades, including several memories of Perkins’ own life working in insurance and then making the exciting decision to see over 40 states with only her husband and a motorhome.

Curious readers visiting the San Diego Union-Tribune Festival of Books can learn all about Judith Cottingham Perkins’ “Life and Love Continue” when the book goes on display at the ReadersMagnet exhibit. The book event will take place on August 19, 2023, at the University of San Diego, 5998 Alcala Park, San Diego, CA. Get the book on Amazon and Barnes & Noble.
