Patrick L. Zeigler Jr.’s “Both Ends of the Barrel” Will Be Displayed at the 2023 Frankfurt Book Fair

“Both Ends of the Barrel: From the Troop Surge to FORT HOOD A Dozen Years in the Global War” by Patrick L. Zeigler Jr. will be exhibited by self-publishing and book marketing company ReadersMagnet at the 2023 Frankfurt Book Fair. The book trade fair will take place on October 18-22, 2023, at Ludwig-Erhard-Anlage 1, 60327 Frankfurt am Main, Germany.

“Both Ends of the Barrel” is a military memoir that follows Sergeant Patrick Zeigler Jr. during his time in the Army, especially during the Fort Hood shooting. Zeigler shares what he witnessed on the day of the shooting as Major Hasan turned back on them, injuring some and killing the other unarmed soldiers in the area. Sergeant Zeigler got shot several times, including a direct blow to the head.

Zeigler wrote the book to talk about the tragic historical event in his perspective and to memorialize those who had fallen. He also dedicates the book to those trying to overcome PTSD from traumatic experiences.

Author’s Biography

Patrick L. Zeigler, Jr. was born May 31, 1981 in Jacksonville, FL. His parents were active-duty Navy personnel. He enlisted as a Cavalry Scout in the U.S. Army in 2006. He also participated in the Troop Surge in Iraq in 2007. He was shot four times during the Fort Hood Massacre. He survived and recovered and spent the next decade recovering from the gunshot wound in his right temple. He is now living with his 10-year-old son, Liam Patrick Zeigler.
