The San Diego Union-Tribune Festival of Books will feature dozens of books written from diverse faith perspectives. This also includes the humble guides by long-time Christian/spiritual authors like Jamie Pulos-Fry. Her book on resilience, titled “Encouraging A Friend with Our Trials,” will also be found among the exhibits at the festival.

The exhibits at the San Diego Union-Tribune Festival of Books will highlight books by authors who come from various faith backgrounds. Undoubtedly, each one will be giving their religion’s perspective on a number of common issues.
However, for long-time Christian spiritual author Jamie Pulos-Fry, it is enough to write something meant to encourage readers with words inspired by their own faith. In the case of her book, “Encouraging A Friend with Our Trials,” she hopes her personal story will encourage fellow Christians to pursue a higher calling when experiencing immense trouble in their lives. The book is scheduled to exhibit at the event.
It tells the story of Pulos-Fry’s devastating vehicular accident that left her traumatized and pushed to the edge of a faith crisis. As she stayed at the hospital, emotionally and spiritually reeling from the accident, she confronted the question of why the God she believed would allow such events to happen in the world.
Yet despite the pain of that event, she also found answers in the form of people she engaged with in the midst of her recovery. It inspired her to start volunteering more actively in church, which led to an incredible life in service to others. Incidentally, the book also contains a number of references and resources that show readers how they can do the same.
