Rukanshagiza at the Hong Kong Book Fair 2023. The book fair will occur on July 19–25, 2023, at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, 1 Harbour Road, Wan Chai, Hong Kong.

In “The African Question,” Dr. Joseph Rukanshagiza embarks on a captivating journey that uncovers the roots of Africa’s political problems, exposing a web of complexities that have plagued the continent for decades.

With an unparalleled analysis, Dr. Rukanshagiza delves deep into the formation of African states, revealing their artificial borders and the psychological impact on their people, which has given rise to many political and social issues.

“The African Question” is a thought-provoking exploration that challenges conventional wisdom. Dr. Rukanshagiza asserts that Africa’s challenges go far beyond its physical boundaries. Instead, they are deeply ingrained in the psyche of its inhabitants, resulting in a myriad of struggles encompassing economic stagnation, political instability, and social unrest.

Throughout the pages of this compelling work, Dr. Rukanshagiza sheds light on the failure of many African nations to achieve sustained economic growth, painting a vivid picture of internal conflicts, fragmentation, and social turmoil.

Moreover, he poses a crucial question that has baffled experts for years: why haven’t African nations been able to unite into a single entity, despite the impassioned calls for nationalism during the pre-independence era?

“The African Question” is not a mere recitation of Africa’s problems; it offers a fresh perspective and a historical lens through which readers can understand and analyze the continent’s current political, economic, and social conditions.

Dr. Rukannshagiza masterfully weaves centuries of colonial rule together, providing a comprehensive examination that unravels the intricate tapestry of Africa’s past and present.
