Stephen Lloyd Auslender’s “The Streamlined Locomotive” Will Be Displayed at the 2023 Guadalajara International Book Fair

Stephen Lloyd Auslender’s “The Streamlined Locomotive” will be displayed at the 2023 Guadalajara International Book Fair at Expo Guadalajara in Av. Mariano Otero 1499, Colonia Verde Valle, Gudalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, on November 25 – December 3, 2023.

The Guadalajara International Book Fair is a cultural festival and the most essential publishing gathering in Ibero-America. The University of Guadalajara annually hosts the event. Authors from all continents and languages visit and connect with agents, publishing companies, other authors, readers, producers, etc.

“The Streamlined Locomotive” follows Theopolis P. Bezelbottom, or Theo, who is the scion of a wealthy family of old-fashioned robber barons and leaders. Theo is lazy and irresponsible, doing as little as possible to maintain his common-law wife, children, and girlfriends in an easygoing life. He expects to inherit and gain control of a significant part of one of the country’s railroads, along with the entire Hawgwaller County.

However, the patriarch and boss of the family, uncle Throckmorton P. Bezelbottom, expects Theo to take active responsibility. His uncle Aloysius P. Bezelbottom also expects him to develop a streamlined steam engine for the two-bit third-rate feeder railroad that the county operates. If Theo cannot fulfill the expectations his uncles set for him, there is an excellent chance that he will not get his inheritance and lose wealth along the way.

Author’s Biography

Stephen Lloyd Auslender first studied Industrial Design (B.S. Degree) and went on to express his surrealist visions in Sculpture (M.F.A. Degree). He holds a doctorate in Creative Arts (Ph. D.). Over the past fifty-plus years, he has taught and worked in Mechanical Design and in Sculpture. His view of life is a combination of Comedy and Tragedy. He has retired from the Mechanical Design and Educational Fields and is presently sculpting and writing.
