San Diego, California – WEBWIRE

“… in order to understand our Constitution, we have to know why things were done the way they were back in the Revolutionary period.”

The San Diego Union-Tribune Festival of Books will be featuring the work of dozens of new authors eager to share their ideas or introduce visiting readers to established philosophies and various schools of thought.

The latter is undoubtedly the goal of Constitutionalist author Russell J. Rucker. His book, “Our Founders In Their Words and Why They Matter,” is set to be exhibited during the event.

True to its title, Rucker’s book is a collection of essays written about the Founding Fathers themselves. This includes important figures such as George Washington, Alexander Hamilton, Thomas Jefferson, and John Adams.

Rucker has arranged his essays in a manner that would help readers see into the minds of these revolutionary leaders as they drafted the documents that would soon lay the foundation of America. And by doing so, he hopes that they can better appreciate the deeper thoughts on the liberty and independence these men sought for the colonies.

The book also contains early drafts of the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and the Declaration of Independence to further illustrate what had historically taken place in their formulation.

It is a book that combines Rucker’s knowledge of history, political theory, and extensive study of the founding documents to create ‘a defense of originalist understanding, a defense of America itself.’

Visitors will have a chance to check out “Our Founders In Their Words and Why They Matter” when it goes on display at the ReadersMagnet exhibit during the San Diego Union-Tribune Festival of Books. Copies are also available online at Barnes & Noble, Amazon as well as the ReadersMagnet online bookstore.

Author Bio
Russell J. Rucker is a devoted Constitutionalist who has served in numerous organizations as well as in government, always arguing for our constitutional rights. He has spent his life in the study of our founding documents and the political theory which surrounds it. As a public speaker, he has defended the Republic arguing for the original intent of the founders. This is his second installment to try to simplify and make our Constitution more understandable to the American Public. When those complain about the age of the Constitution, he points out the desire of the founders wanting a perpetual document leaving the backdoor open to amendments.
