Eartha L. Mims was born in a small rural town in South Carolina and presently lives in Clearwater, FL. She was educated in the public school system of Calhoun County. After graduation, she attended South Carolina State University in Orangeburg, SC, and received a degree in Elementary Education and a master’s degree in Counseling Education.

After graduation, she moved to Clearwater, FL, and taught 5th grade for three years, then became a school counselor at the middle school level for 33 years in Pinellas County. In the winter of 2005, Eartha received a master’s degree in Educational Leadership and, in 2017, a doctorate degree in Education.

Eartha is a member of a local church in Clearwater, FL, and has taught Sunday School to youth and adult women. She is currently active in the church’s choir and Women on Mission. She is married and blessed with two adult sons and a daughter.
