J.M. Werlein’s “The Adventures of the Last Wives Club” Will Be Showcased at the 2023 Hong Kong Book Fair

J.M. Werlein’s “The Adventures of the Last Wives Club” will be displayed by self-publishing and book marketing company ReadersMagnet at the 2023 Hong Kong Book Fair. The book fair will occur on July 19-25, 2023, at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, 1 Expo Dr, Wan Chai, Hong Kong.

The Hong Kong Book Fair is one of the biggest book fairs in Asia. Now on its 33^rd edition, the city’s annual literary extravaganza promises to bring in many more acclaimed writers and various seminars and cultural activities for visitors of all ages to take part in. “The Adventures of the Last Wives Club” follows Marvel and her friends as they cope with their common denominator – losing their husbands to Alzheimer’s disease. They find themselves in the role of the chief caregiver and discover a close bond develops between them as they share the difficult journey of the deteriorating health of their spouses. Eventually, a new road faces each one: the loneliness of being a widow.

Marvel and her friends decide to accept the challenge of this new chapter and take a vacation together. With this, they share a bond that helps them deal with their situation of becoming widows.

The author uses the elements of humor and juxtaposition to bring the readers into the different journeys of the characters. She also shares a heartwarming yet poignant story as each character has her own struggles as her spouse’s health slowly deteriorates.

Author’s Biography

J.M. Werlein was born and raised in St. Paul, MN. She went to college and studied Sociology and Anthropology but her love of horses took her down another path.

She has been a professional trainer and coach for over 35 years. Her career took a slight fork in the road when for a time she worked in one capacity or another in Minnesota State Politics. Spending most of her time in the Minnesota House of Representatives. In January 2016, she once again returned to her passion of teaching and being with horses when she moved to Bellevue, NE to work for a friend who has a training facility there.
