Published Author Deborah Doppelt Shares Her Great Odyssey of Being a Mother

New Jersey, USA – WEBWIRE

“A Mother’s Journey” is an inspirational journey of a mother taking an account of her son Josh’s life; the treasured times as well as the heart-breaking ones. This story is based on actual journal entries made shortly after her son’s Josh death. Commemorating a life filled with love, hope, anger, and forgiveness.

Carrying the grief of child loss requires a lifetime of great courage. Sadly enough, the most painful goodbyes are the ones that are left unsaid and never explained. This piece narrates by the author in a very personal way, sharing and hoping readers will learn from heartfelt yet flawed actions. The author had undergone the stages of grief of losing her beloved son. Suicide; accidental or not will leave a devastating and permanent scar on the loved ones they leave behind. These stages; are denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance which lead her to cope and encourage her to write this piece intended as a guide for teenagers and parents for some teenagers do not have the ability to understand the consequences of their actions.

“Only a Mother who loses a child can know the depths of grief.”

About the Author
Deborah Doppelt graduated college with a degree in Health and Physical Education and began her career after being a substitute for one year. She taught elementary P.E. for seven years, married, and when her first child Josh was born she left the profession. Two years later Josh’s sister Jordan came along. It was not until Josh was in junior high that she began to go back to teaching as a substitute in the local schools. This is when they moved, and she believes Josh had a difficult time fitting into the larger regional school. Teaching full time in a private school from January of 2000 until her retirement in 2019. She moved three years ago to the town where her family had a summer home. She now works as a permanent substitute teacher in a local high school. "A Mother’s Journey" is her first attempt at writing.
