Karen Kay Neuhalfen’s “This Little Light of Mine” was exhibited at the 2023 Los Angeles Times Festival of Books. The book festival ran from April 22 to 23, 2023, at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, USA.

Neuhalfen’s book was displayed at self-publishing and book marketing company ReadersMagnet’s booth at the book festival. The company aims to support independent and self-published authors by bringing their works to the L.A. Times Festival of Books and other huge book events attended by book lovers, authors, and publishing and book marketing professionals.

“This Little Light of Mine” follows Edison, an adorable firefly who is not aware he could “glow.” He takes a special journey to get to know himself better. This journey lets him learn how his light helps him and brings joy to everyone around him.

The book uses simple words that young readers can practice in their vocabulary. It is a brilliantly illustrated book that shows images that the readers, especially the youngsters, will enjoy. It’s as if the readers are looking at the characters embarking on a journey of a lifetime right before their eyes.

“This Little Light of Mine” revolves around the theme of discovering and trusting one’s capabilities. Neuhalfen wrote this book for her two daughters almost 25 years ago. She aims to leave a positive and heart-warming message to the young readers as they get to be on an adventure with Edison, the firefly. This book is perfect for children ages 6-9 years old.
