Darlene Lorraine Gibson’s “One Woman’s Testimony of a Transformed Life” Will be Displayed at the 2023 Hong Kong Book Fair

Darlene Lorraine Gibson’s “One Woman’s Testimony of a Transformed Life: A Book for the Hungry, Hurting, and Healing Heart: An Attestation of Christ’s Work in My Life” will be exhibited at the 2023 Hong Kong Book Fair. The book fair will take place at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, 1 Expo Dr, Wan Chai, Hong Kong, this July 19-25, 2023.

“One Woman’s Testimony of a Transformed Life” tells the life story of the author from her childhood and teenage years to her adulthood. It focuses on the life challenges she experienced and how family and faith kept her grounded. The autobiography is divided into four sections: 1.) My Journey, 2.) Scripture-Inspired Poetry, 3.) Sermons, and 4.) Outline of a Transformed Life.

“My Journey” is a collection of experiences that the author experienced in her earlier years. From her childhood, teenage, and the beginning of adulthood, Darlene Lorraine Gibson found herself several trials and tribulations that affected her well-being. The challenges include her scholastic journey, which took a lot of years to complete. She found healing and reconciliation from her past as she accepted the Word of God in her life.

The second part, “Scripture-Inspired Poetry: The Heart of Me a.k.a. Straight From My Heart,” is an anthology of poetry that reflects the author’s life through Biblical scriptures. Each poem begins with a Bible verse, and then Gibson reinvents the passage in her own words through her natural gift of poetry creation to provide a reflection of the Word of God.

Part three of the book is called “Sermons God Gave Me During Tough Seasons of My Life, and Special Poems.” This part is a testimonial section in which the author provides the lessons she encountered along the way that can be shared with the readers. Some of these lessons are best expressed in poetry as the author talks about familial love.

The last section of the book is called “An Outline for a Transformed Life.” In this part, the author provides the outline of how she transformed from a shy girl into a woman with so many life experiences.

The book will be exhibited by self-publishing and book marketing company ReadersMagnet at their exhibit at booths 1C-B23 and 1C-B25 at the 2023 Hong Kong Book Fair.

Author’s Biography

Darlene is a woman on a mission for God. She is also a psych rehab specialist. She was born and raised in Philadelphia and spent a significant time of her adult life in Willow Grove. Furthermore, Darlene is an alumna of Montgomery County Community College (AS Human Services), Chestnut Hill College (BS in Human Services) and received a MA in Christian Ministry from the School of Divinity at Liberty University. She also has received a post graduate certificate from the Behavioral Health and Science, Military Resilience program. Darlene’s latest certificate was received from Missio Seminary, PULPIT (Program for Urban Leaders and Pastors in Transition).

Moreover, at Darlene’s core, she has a servant’s heart, and is passionate about helping people become healed, transformed, and whole. Darlene is a servant of the Lord Jesus Christ and has recently joined a local church near her home to partner with and continue serving the Lord. Her goals are to do whatever it is that is within and in accordance with God’s will that will bring Him glory and help others along on their journey.
