“You’ll Do Anything for Him: A New Relationship Perspective” by Dr. Maureen E. Hosier and sister, Berta Hosier Conger, was exhibited at the 2023 Los Angeles Times Festival of Books, held at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, last April 22-23, 2023.

The display of Hosier’s book at the country’s largest book festival was made possible by the self-publishing and book marketing company ReadersMagnet. The company showcased different titles, sharing them with thousands of fairgoers that included authors, avid readers, and publishing industry professionals.

In this book, “You’ll Do Anything for Him,” traditional psychological labels are set aside to give way for understanding what one is really thinking and feeling when they are unconsciously, “giving up their own self” to make their relationship work for Him.

Persons who “give up their selves” to take care of their partner’s needs and feelings, unconsciously “feel” that he must be pleased and satisfied by their attention and focus on Him or there will be emotional consequences (at least).

“You’ll Do Anything for Him” is not intended to provide psychological counseling, advice, or service. Its purpose is to help nurture one’s own interest and understanding of their own relationship dynamics in the specific situation where they “give up their self” to focus on their partner’s needs and feelings.

The book is a twin to the co-authors’ other book, “You’ll Do Anything for Her,” which also delves into knowing the “self” when their partner is a woman

Author’s Biography

Maureen always wanted to write a book about relationships but knew she couldn’t do it on her own.

She couldn’t get the words down on paper without her sister’s focus on detail, organization, and flow—not to mention her sister’s ability to bring introspective depth and richness to their combined understanding of one-person and two-person relationships.

Writing a book together became their way of learning how to be in a two-person relationship where both sister’s ideas are considered and valued in the same moment in time, without their fighting and arguing about what is included.

And without demanding that each other to do it “my way.” These are the exact relationship dynamics that are explored in “You’ll Do Anything for Him.”

It took their learning to learn how to become conscious of their own needs and feelings and to consider each other’s ideas and perspectives in the same moment when they both wanted something different.

They had to consciously experience a “new” relationship technique.

Caring about each other’s ideas.

This was a huge, complex emotional accomplishment in their partnership. And became the “answer” to a partnership’s success.

They understood they both had to begin to wonder and explore and understand what was going on for them that they both “gave up their own selves” to focus on “taking care of HIM” (Berta), and Maureen, “taking care of HER” in their intimate relationships.

So, the issue is not about HIM and making the relationship work for “HIM.”

Rather the issue from the reader’s perspective is about - what’s going on for me, that I focus on his needs and feelings, to make the relationship work for HIM?

Aha! I’m the one, needing to change me. How do I do that?

Thus, the two books, “You’ll Do Anything for Him” and “You’ll Do Anything for Her,” were created.

The content in both books is the same, the pronouns are different, because the relationship dynamics and etiologies are the same for everyone, who “gives up them self,” to make their relationship work for their partner.
