New York, NY – WEBWIRE

Since before the inception of National Safety Month, the professionals at CTSI have supported programs that protect the nation’s workforce by providing industrial hygiene and environmental, health, and safety consulting services to clients across the nation.

The National Safety Council established National Safety Month back in 1996. The month-long observance has taken place each June since then. It is a time for organizations, companies, and individuals to increase awareness of workplace safety and health risks, and to make efforts to reduce occupational injuries, illnesses, and deaths.

Effective occupational health and safety programs are crucial as the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reports that as recently as 2021, there were 5,190 fatal work injuries recorded in the United States, with a worker dying every 101 minutes. That same year, private employers reported 2.6 million nonfatal workplace injuries and illnesses. This number included 1,062,700 nonfatal injuries and illnesses that caused a private industry worker to miss at least one day of work according to BLS.

Weekly topics for this year’s National Safety Month include:

  • Week 1 – Emergency Preparedness
  • Week 2 – Slips, Trips, and Falls
  • Week 3 – Heat-Related Illness
  • Week 4 – Hazard Recognition

“Since before the inception of National Safety Month, the professionals at CTSI have supported programs that protect the nation’s workforce by providing industrial hygiene and environmental, health, and safety consulting services to clients across the nation,” said Frank Selamie, President of CTSI. “Our expert team of safety professionals have assessed thousands of workplaces, providing real solutions to improve safety and mitigate risks in accordance with federal, state, and local rules and regulations.”

CTSI continues to offer comprehensive facility-wide safety and health programs, community right-to-know program support in NYC, regulatory compliance assessments and management training, safety training, and numerous other EHS and industrial hygiene services. Last year, CTSI even sponsored an educational video about National Safety Month that can still be seen at: https://youtu.be/ygdLjYfG8z0
