Nelson Spinetti’s Complete Guide on Baby-Feeding Basics Exhibited at the L.A. Times Festival of Books 2023

When it comes to healthcare education, the 2023 L.A. Times Festival of Books included a lot of new materials that taught the latest best practices published by experts.

Among these is Dr. Nelson Spinetti, who recently published “Complete Guide for Infant Feeding: Grow Healthily and Happily.” With the help of ReadersMagnet, a book marketing and self-publishing company, Dr. Spinetti secured an exhibit spot for it at the book festival.

“Complete Guide for Infant Feeding” is a compilation of Dr. Spinetti’s expertise after 20 years of administering to babies experiencing reflux, colic, milk protein allergy, and other feeding difficulties. For despite improvements in medical science, many new parents remain anxious about proper care of their children.

The rise of medical misinformation as well as heavy reliance on medication has also not helped (and in some cases, it has made the problem worse).

Dr. Spinetti’s book aims to restore a back-to-basics approach to infant feeding by putting the most essential information in one book. Born in Venezuela, Spinetti comes from a family of dedicated healthcare professionals. His father was an adult gastroenterologist who exposed him very early to the field that would eventually become his own area of expertise. He graduated from the Universidad Central de Venezuela, started a pediatric gastroenterology fellowship at LSU, then underwent more training at Tulane University.

Through many years in clinics, hospitals, nurseries, and pediatric ICUs, he has made patient education a primary focus and attributes his success to it. And with his book, he hopes to serve more parents still anxious about how to properly care for their children.

Nelson Spinetti was born in Venezuela into a medical family. His father was an adult gastroenterologist, and from a very early age, he was introduced to the care of people and patients. He graduated from Universidad Central de Venezuela as a medical surgeon. Immediately after graduating, he got married to his beautiful wife, who is also a medical doctor. Together, they moved to Austin, Texas, where they completed their pediatric training.

They continued achieving higher goals and started a pediatric gastroenterology fellowship at Louisiana State University, LSU, with additional training at TULANE University. He graduated as a pediatric gastroenterologist and maintained his pediatric certification and pediatric gastroenterology certification continuously for over 20 years.

He started his medical practice in full pediatric gastroenterology clinic practice, where he covered daily without interruption until the present day. He also covered pediatric medical floors in four hospitals, three pediatric intensive care units, and three neonatal intensive care units and nurseries.

As part of his practice, he dedicated a significant amount of time to training and educating parents on maximizing infant nutrition and preventing infant feeding complications.

Additionally, he created an infant feeding scale and Dr. Spinetti’s Perfect Feeding Bottle for his medical practice, which achieved tremendous success in preventing infant feeding complications and minimizing the unnecessary use of medication and formulas.

He continues to practice full time, starting in 2022. In addition to his medical practice, he educates outside of the clinic, sharing his knowledge with families and anyone who can benefit from his extensive experience in infant feeding medicine.
