Ron Stout’s “Spike!!” Features the Story of Young Christian Women at the 2023 Los Angeles Times Festival of Books

Ron Stout’s “Spike!!” (Young Christian Women in Sports Series) was exhibited at the 2023 Los Angeles Times Festival of Books. The book festival took place at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, last April 22-23, 2023.

Stout’s book was one of the books that were exhibited by the self-publishing and book marketing company ReadersMagnet at the country’s largest book festival. The company aims to showcase the works of authors such as Stout at the L.A. Times Festival of Books and other huge book events that are attended by thousands of book lovers, authors, and publishing and book marketing professionals.

“Spike!!” follows the story of the Anderson twins as they get the chance to do what they want in their lives. However, they are given a moment to choose which career path they should pursue. Evie and Vangie both have a love for volleyball yet also find a sanctuary in singing in church services.

Evie and Vangie are both huge fans of volleyball since they were children as their mother used to be a volleyball champion at a local college. Their parents still follow the game. They all watch volleyball together so that they understand the jargon of the game.

Apart from indulging themselves in sports, the twins and their mother form a vocal trio that has become popular in churches. They use their voices to connect with people through their performances. They perform in services, weddings, and funerals.

With their love for sports and singing, they are given a momentous choice about which career they should pursue. It is a choice that could influence their future. One of these pathways could be a pinnacle for their success.

Author’s Biography

Ron Stout is author of several books including Westward Ho! and Fireflies: God’s Lessons on the Farm. He served two tours in the Korean conflict as a US Navy officer on a destroyer and earned his BTh from LIFE Bible College. He also worked for many years as a stock broker, branch manager of an NYSE firm, and as an independent registered investment advisor. Ron and his wife, Corinne, came to Arizona in 1980. Corinne passed in 2020.
