They loved to blend their voices in songs of praise to their Heavenly Father, and they also loved to sing the old classics.

Doreen L. Hatton’s “Then Sings My Soul” was one of the books displayed by self-publishing and book marketing company ReadersMagnet at the 2023 London Book Fair. The book trade fair took place at Olympia London, London, UK, last April 18-20, 2023.

Lily Langston’s husband, Samuel, is crossing the street to his home when a car hits him. The driver is fifteen-year-old Aaron Turner, who only has a learner’s permit that shouldn’t allow him to drive alone, especially at night. Samuel dies from the injuries.

The Langtons, who are Christians, believe in forgiveness, so they convince the court to give Aaron probation and community service. This decision makes Rose, Samuel’s fifteen-year-old daughter, angry. She could not forgive Aaron for what he did and that he deserved to be in jail for killing her dad. At the church and community functions, Lily and her girls, including Rose, perform to share their talents in music and singing.

While they are still grieving and dealing with Samuel’s death, they discover that Aaron also has a passion for music. He sings and plays the guitar, which made his way to working with Rose. Will Rose ever forgive the very man who killed her father? Will their passion for music let them get closer and find redemption for a painful tragedy?

The author conveys a message of forgiveness and healing in a journey through the Words of God in music, togetherness, and church.
