Learn how a scientist challenges human biology using the adaptations of unrelated species to adjust to a challenging world.

San Diego, CA – WEBWIRE

Yet despite these and other success stories, we have failed miserable to educate people throughout the world to recognize the value of truth over lies, science over “wishful thinking,” and evidence-based decision over “fake news.”

Dr. Jules Mitchel talks about how other unrelated species of animals evolve to the ever-changing world and challenges the capacity of humans to adapt to the COVID-19 pandemic in his “Essays on Surviving Covid-19 and Beyond: Lessons Learned from the Ancients to the Present.”

The world has experienced different pandemics through the years. The recent COVID-19 pandemic has paralyzed nations and has limited or restricted human activities. Together with the mishandling of the responses and the manifestation of human fantasies, this has caused fear and anxiety in societies. The recent pandemic has also been compared to the Spanish flu pandemic that happened around World War I.

Dr. Jules Mitchel is a biologist who is curious if humans could learn from other species that deal with behaviors that include competition, empathy, altruism, and cooperation. One example is how humans make use of a honeyguide bird signal to know the location of a nearby beehive. This relationship helps the humans find and take down the beehive while the honeyguide bird has a meal from the leftovers.

The author believes that it is clear that cooperation, empathy, and altruism can help humans live in harmony.
