Author’s Biography
Meg Jordan, PhD, RN, NBC-HWC is Professor and Chair, Integrative Health Studies at California Institute of Integral Studies. She is a clinical medical anthropologist, behavioral health specialist, RN specializing in integrative healing and behavioral health. Meg is also a national board certified health and wellness coach, award-winning international health journalist, and author of numerous publications and books.

An emeritus board member of the National Board for Health & Wellness Coaching, she helped launch the first national certification for health coaches, and her peer-reviewed journal articles on education and training of health coaches, coaching for diversity and the underserved, and the difference between coaching and psychotherapy rank in the top tier of cited publications. Serving as Co-President of the National Wellness Institute board, she received NWI’s Lifetime Achievement Award and was appointed to the California Governor’s Council.

As special guest faculty for the Integrative Health Coaching program at the Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine, University of Arizona, and the Functional Medicine Coaching Academy, Meg’s innovative model for integrative health coaching has been adopted throughout the world, most notably in India and China. Her grant-funded ethnographic research on health coaching for the homeless pioneered new methodologies for outreach.
