LATAM Voted “The Best Seat Comfort” and “Best Food & Beverage” in South America for the Second Consecutive Year

The LATAM group has been voted by customers as having the “Best Seat Comfort in South America” and the “Best Food & Beverage in South America” in the APEX Passenger Choice Awards®, 2023. LATAM’s product and service have been recognized by voters for the second consecutive year.

“We are very happy to receive these awards, recognizing the enormous effort our dedicated team puts into constantly improving the travel experience for our customers,” said Estela Espinoza, Senior Travel Experience Manager, LATAM Airlines Group. “We’re committed to further improving our service and elevating the experience on every flight,” she added.

APEX gathered anonymous feedback from passengers from nearly one million flights, including more than 600 airlines around the world. Using a scale of one to five stars, passengers rated their experience in five categories including seat comfort, cabin service, food & beverage, in-flight entertainment, and wi-fi.

What do these awards mean for LATAM?

LATAM is working hard to offer a consistent end-to-end experience from selecting and purchasing flights, to in-flight, to baggage collection on arrival.

The airline has already invested more than US$500 million in updating their aircraft cabins to make the in-flight experience more comfortable for customers. This investment includes the installation of new seats with special features such as additional recline, headrest with six-axis movements, and others. In the Premium Business cabins, the new seats have attributes such as even longer 180-degree beds, autonomy to go out into the aisle, more space to store personal items, and greater privacy, ensuring the best experience during the flight.

Improvements in Food & Beverage include updated menus for Economy and Premium Business cabins that source ingredients from the local region, and highlight the flavors and versatility of Latin American cuisine. The menus include iconic recipes from Latin American chefs, showcase their work, and the impact they have made in their places of origin.
