Eviden Simplifies Supercomputing Federation with new JARVICE XE Software Module

Paris, France – WEBWIRE

Eviden, the Atos business leading in advanced computing, today announces a new software module, Federation Pack, to accelerate organizations’ abilities to connect and federate HPC clusters and Supercomputers around the world.

Based on JARVICE XE container-native HPC scheduler, this new release of HPC Federation as-a-service in a software platform is a first on the market. JARVICE XE brings JARVICE – a patented container technology with years of IP already powering Eviden’s HPC Cloud and HPC as-a-service offerings – to customers as a software.

Easy to configure, this new module enables simple and seamless integration of any Kubernetes or Slurm compute infrastructures, used in many enterprises and supercomputing centers, for HPC and AI workloads. Designed to be as accessible as possible, it is also compatible with existing Cloud Pack module to extend customers’ computing landscape across on premises clusters and any cloud provider.

Complementary to Nimbix Federated cloud service offering, the Federated Pack can be bundled with Eviden’s HPC systems, Think AI offers and Quantum clusters, providing our customers with unrivaled computing capabilities.

Emmanuel Le Roux, SVP, Head of HPC, AI and Quantum Computing, Eviden, Atos Group said “This new platform is an important step for Eviden’s strategy to develop computing capabilities as-a-service, a key differentiator for the Group, and make HPC technologies more accessible to customers. It will also enable the Group to further engage with partners, both software and cloud providers to accelerate its growth and market position in HPC.

Eviden, a global leader in HPC, has reinforced its positioning with 43 supercomputers in the latest TOP500 listing (June 2023), all also referenced in the latest Green500. With an increased performance and now reaching 238 petaflops, the Leonardo system, EuroHPC pre-exascale supercomputer hosted by Cineca and based on Eviden’s BullSequana XH2000, has maintained its position as the 4th most powerful supercomputer in the world. Eviden also has three new systems entering the listing, including Alex6, first HPC system to enter the TOP500 with an Eviden BXI interconnect technology connecting both CPUs and GPUs.
