Jeff Lucier’s “Madam’s Mini” was Exhibited at the 2023 Los Angeles Times Festival of Books

Jeff Lucier’s “Madam’s Mini” was exhibited by self-publishing and book marketing company ReadersMagnet at the 2023 Los Angeles Times Festival of Books. The book festival took place at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, last April 22-23, 2023.

Illustrated by Judy Allen, “Madam’s Mini” is a children’s book that follows Hubert, also known as Huey, as he learns about the values of things in his stroll with Madam in town. Huey lives on Victoria Street next to their friendly British neighbors, Madam and Sir Archie. Madam and Sir Archie own the smallest car in town – a ’66 Mini Cooper S.

Madam and Sir Archie used to take Huey’s dad for a “sweet ride,” which means “fun” in dad talk. When Madam needs company, she lets Huey go with her in town, especially when she needs to go to the market (grocery) or post some letters (send mail letters).

As they ride to town, people would look at the Mini and laugh at it as it is the smallest car in town. No other car looks like it. Huey still has fun with the ride in the mini and realizes that the bigger the car doesn’t always mean it’s better.

The author takes the readers into a world with lessons to learn. The readers will learn to value the things that they own and to make memories with them.
