David S. This amazing event, which is the largest literary festival in the country, took place on April 22-23, 2023, at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, USA.

In “Safe Energy Forever,” David S. Halbert presents the idea that electricity can be made affordable and pure water can be distributed to the world. A large portion of the world has little to no access to electricity and pure water. Atomic energy was originally developed to produce bombs.

However, there is a process to modify atomic energy and make it useful and that is by slowing down the reaction. This book details the recent re-discovery of a method that can safely produce an abundant amount of clean energy. Affordable electricity and a great source of pure water could help a lot of people who greatly suffer from poverty.

David S. Halbert and his group of physicists started a project related to liquid fuel molten salt nuclear reactor. The discovery of alternative nuclear energy is made possible with the group of physicists David has worked with. The project involves members Jack McGlothlin, Randy Nicholson, Jim Porter, and Charles Ivey, while physicist Rusty Towell brought the project all together on a physics level.

David S. Halbert, M.D. grew up in San Antonio, Texas, and has three children, ten grandchildren, and twenty-one great grandchildren. He resides in Abilene, Texas, with his wife, Dee. David graduated from Abilene Christian University and the University of Texas Medical school and served as Captain and Flight Surgeon in the U.S. Air Force. He spent his residency at General Surgery University Texas San Antonio and practiced General Surgery in Abilene for more than forty years. He is also a private pilot and authored a book about breast problems. He started several companies, including Banyan International, Sabian Corporation, West Texas Medical Center(120-bed hospital), The Medical Mall, and Medical Mall surgery center. David served as Chief of Surgery at Abilene Regional Medical Center. He founded and currently serves as President of Clavél Corporation and is one of the original founders of “NEXT” Nuclear Project.

Dr. David Halbert is a highly deserving recipient of the Outstanding Service Award because of his support for the mission of ACU, the Department of Engineering and Physics, the NEXT Lab, and his humanitarian efforts. His quest to address the global root causes of extreme poverty led him to research clean, safe, and affordable energy sources. After understanding the promise of advanced molten salt reactors, he played a crucial role in forming the Nuclear Energy Experimental Testing (NEXT) lab. Dr. Halbert was the first to contribute funds to the project and continues to serve on the NEXT advisory board. He has even written a book promoting and explaining the technology in laymen’s terms.
