Usha Cervantes, a Chief in Western Samoa, is the author of “Over 100 First Samoan Words.” Her mother is from Apia, Samoa, and her father is from Suva, Fiji. Being raised in Southern California, she and her two sisters had difficulty learning the Samoan language. Now that Usha is a wife and mother to three young children, she wrote the book she wished she had as a child.
