Post-Apocalyptic Military Thriller by Jason Dye, “Initium Novum,” Is Displayed at the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books

In “Initium Novum: New Beginnings,” Jason Dye reimagines a post-apocalyptic Earth where a world government is toppled by a global corporation. The planet is a wasteland, with a conflict-torn between the resistance and the ruling elite. The only hope for the future is locked in the past, and the key is a disgruntled, average Joe with no memory of it.

“When humanity is angry at itself, the planet soon follows.”

The 2023 L.A. Times Festival of Books was a wonderful opportunity for authors of various genres to share their creative reimagining of fantastical premises. Post-apocalyptic fiction is certainly one example, as the festival included many recently published stories of resistance against dystopic regimes and large-scale threats to mankind.

Jason Dye is certainly one author whose book has plenty of that. However, he also digs deeper.

Titled “Initium Novum: New Beginnings,” the book is set on a heavily decimated Earth, where the only most valuable resources left are two precious metals. The conflict surrounding these two eventually leads to the bloody triumph of the Imperium Corporation, which proceeds to seize control of whatever is left of human civilization.

Enter Joe, a wandering and disgruntled traveler who has spent the last few years just trying to survive the whole madness. The Imperium’s conglomerate only becomes more oppressive by the day. Yet through a series of strange events, he learns that he somehow has the key to saving humanity from its collision course with self-destruction.

The pages are filled with intense action sequences inspired by Dye’s own experience in the U.S. Army. He had even taken part in Operation Noble Eagle and Iraqi Freedom, followed by three years in the Army National Guard. Throughout it all, though, he always loved to write, and Initium Novum is his first published novel.

The book was last exhibited at the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books 2023, bringing another fresh perspective to thrilling post-apocalyptic adventures.

Attendees to the Los Angeles Festival of Books had a great chance to see where Joe’s story ends, along with other truths that were hidden in the post-apocalyptic world that Dye had created. The book was displayed at the exhibit of ReadersMagnet, a self-publishing and book marketing company.

Those eager to check out “Initium Novum: New Beginnings” can order the book online at Amazon and Barnes & Noble. Anyone interested in Jason Dye’s future publications can also check out his website at: https://www.1author.net/
