“Heaven Bound: An Incredible Journey to the Perfect Destination” by Tucker Yates

“Heaven Bound.” Even the statement is pretty audacious, assuming there is such a place, and I can go there. The Bible says “yes” to both.

Opinions, however, run the gamut, there being many regarding how one gets to Heaven. This book gets it right.

Highly recommended, “Heaven Bound” originally written for the author’s 17 grandchildren, is a biblical blueprint on how anyone can obtain eternal life. Surprisingly, there are few Christian books written expressly on this subject, most dwelling on far less important themes. There is a strong emphasis on the “journey” to Heaven (thus the subtitle), how exciting and fulfilling (“joyous!”) life is once Jesus is believed on and received into one’s heart and life. Though written well enough for a scholar to appreciate, it’s designed to be easily understood by anyone who reads it.

An ardent reader of the Bible for over 70 years, the author includes many personal stories, some with humor, all very helpful. Whatever your concept of Heaven might be, surely the guarantee of attaining it is everyone’s innate desire. Faith and prayer are strongly emphasized, this book is a great gift to others.

Once in a Bible Study group, a friend, having read “Heaven Bound,” asked Tucker how long it took to write it. “Oh, 6 months to a year.” “No,” he retorted, “this book took a life-time - and furthermore Tucker’s a liar; the Holy Spirit wrote it!” What better compliment could be given?
