Holocaust Survivor Leah Cik Roth Shares Memoir “My Eyes Looking Back at Me: A Glimpse into the Soul of a Survivor”

For some, a dark past is best forgotten. For Leah Cik Roth, a Holocaust Survivor, it is a reminder of perseverance, survival, and strength. In her memoir, “My Eyes Looking Back at Me: Insight Into a Survivor’s Soul,” she finally musters the courage to tell her story; a story beautifully and exceptionally written by someone who has grown close to her heart, Menucha Meinstein.

Motherless at the young age of five and grew to fend for herself as an adolescent, Leah has experienced some earlier traumas. However, the unforgiving genocide was one that scarred her for life. Unable to tell her side of the story, she kept most of her haunting memories to herself. But when Menucha Meinstein entered her life as a volunteer, she was finally given the chance to let her voice be heard.

Her memoir reaches back to her yesterdays— her survival in four concentration camps, the pain and anguish of losing the ones she loved, the hardships she had faced, the joy of finding relatives, and the milestones and triumphs she achieved throughout her life as a Survivor. For people like her, talking about the past is like reopening wounds. But as a strong, courageous woman, Leah is determined to finally share her Holocaust memories to the world. In this series of events and emotions, get ready to look back on history in the eyes of a woman who survived and lived.
