Today, author and interior designer Karen Nepacena and photographer Christopher Dibble are proud to offer their debut work, “Midcentury Modern Style: An Approachable Guide to Inspired Rooms,” available for pre-order at www.destinationeichler.com/book. Currently in production by publisher Gibbs Smith, the book is slated to hit bookstores and digital shelves in November 2023. “Midcentury Modern Style: An Approachable Guide to Inspired Rooms” offers a digestible guide to the midcentury modern design period alongside attainable design solutions for a range of budgets, including DIY ideas and vintage shopping tips.

“While renovating our own midcentury home, I read every MCM design book I could find. But none felt like they were written for me – someone with a young family and a limited budget, yet a desire to preserve and honor my midcentury house,” said Karen Nepacena, principal designer at Destination Eichler. “I was inspired to write this book to share what I’ve learned in a practical guide. Transforming a space doesn’t always require a big budget. Simply swapping one material for another or finding just the right vintage retro clock to accent a space can have a huge impact.”

Paired with Karen Nepacena’s accessible design tips are Christopher Dibble’s stunning images. “Midcentury Modern Style” takes readers on a visual journey through 12 real and down-to-earth midcentury inspired homes, offering a practical guide to incorporating the style into any space. The two artists have been collaborating for several years to capture Karen’s interior design work, and an artistic partnership and friendship blossomed. The pair created “Midcentury Modern Style” for anyone curious to learn more about the design period or anyone who wants to incorporate midcentury flair into their homes.

“I love producing images that inspire and tell a story, yet feel natural and lived-in,” said photographer Christopher Dibble. “The best interior design is aspirational yet attainable, and Karen is an expert at achieving this balance. We’re so thrilled about what we’ve been able to capture within this book.”

With each chapter dedicated to a different space, “Midcentury Modern Style” walks readers room-by-room through practical steps to bringing midcentury modern magic to readers’ own homes–whether it’s a full home renovation or simply breathing new life into home decor. Each chapter includes sidebars with helpful information such as common layouts and building materials, as well as more practical tricks that don’t require knocking down any walls, like sample color palettes and shapes that evoke a midcentury feel.

“Midcentury Modern Style: An Approachable Guide to Inspired Rooms” is available for $35. For more information and to pre-order your copy, visit www.destinationeichler.com/book.
