Diane Troup’s Harrowing Account of Loneliness in Foster Care Slated for Global Book Exhibits

After being abandoned by her mother at the tender age of three, Diane Troup has had to grow up seeing her family torn apart by the system. Her book, “Echoes of Loneliness,” tells her story of how her life changed for the worst. But towards the end, it also shares her shaky yet determined path towards faith and recovery. The book will soon be exhibited at a number of global book exhibits this year.

“As she recounts her tumultuous childhood, listen to the Echoes of Loneliness ringing through her words…”

This year, plenty of international book exhibits will be introducing more authors sharing motivational stories that celebrate triumph over trauma. Among them is Diane Troup, author of the book “Echoes of Loneliness.”

In “Echoes of Loneliness,” she describes her early life as a big continuous storm that tore up a once happy family. At the tender age of three, she and her three brothers were abandoned by her mother. Her father was a travelling businessman who had to spend considerable time away from home in order to provide for them all.

Without a wife and mother, the family was on the road of being pulled apart by the system. It began when the father asked a family friend for help, only to end up exposing them to an abusive, gun-toting alcoholic.

This led to the father turning to an orphanage for assistance. He felt that adoption was the best option however; two of her brothers were taken in by one family, while she and baby brother went to another.

Eventually, she had to come to grips that she wouldn’t be reunited with her whole family for a very long time. It would be more years and several more hardships before she even had a chance.

Despite this constant storm of disappointment and abuse, she survives it all and finds hope in the Creator.

Today, she is now a happy grandmother to four children and sees life as a beautiful adventure. Scattered across the chapters are brief poems that describe the intense, emotional hurricanes she went through to reach this point, but she hopes that these will only enhance the message of hope she wants to send with her story.
