Tobin Marks Brings Readers to a Dystopian Future - and a New Home Planet in “Ark of the Apocalypse”

Tobin Marks’ sci-fi fantasy book “Ark of the Apocalypse: The Magellan II Chronicles” was displayed by publishing and book marketing company ReadersMagnet at the 2023 Los Angeles Times Festival of Books. The book festival occurred at the University of Southern California last April 22-23, 2023.

In “Ark of the Apocalypse,” the Magellan II is an 11-kilometer-long-ark ship that is built to carry ten thousand colonists from the dying Earth to a watery world that’s located 1187 light years away called Aqueous. Aqueous might be able to sustain the new human civilization, but it is also inhabited by giant reptiles, hostile inhabitants, and dragons. These are some of the challenges humans need to fight for survival. Despite the danger, the humans have successfully created two colonies, which actively fight off invasions by a warlike reptilian race called Thith.

It’s good that they have a savior in Doctor Nadya Yanbeyava. Nadya is not only the medical chief of staff but a geneticist of world-class quality. Other than her skills, she is also a powerful seer who can see the future to ensure the survival of both colonies. She knows what the future holds and writes these events in a series of books, depicting the end time’s final conflict that will occur centuries after her death. Her book becomes the cornerstone of human civilization. They call her book, The Hope Prophecy.

Author Tobin Marks recently held a book signing session for ““Ark of the Apocalypse,” organized by ReadersMagnet at the 2023 L.A. Times Festival of Books on April 23, 2023. The book won the 2021 Firebird Book Award for Best Fantasy and the 2022 New York City Best Book Award for Best Fantasy and was a finalist at the 2023 Independent Author Network.

Tobin Marks is an extreme world traveler who grew up in a household of rocket scientists. Growing up he had a front-row seat to many NASA and NOA far-reaching accomplishments. From his home in northwest Baja, he has written an exciting trilogy called The Hope Prophecy. It’s a prequel: the award-winning “Ark of the Apocalypse” is science fiction fantasy at its best.
