Debbie L. Cole Shares How Her Sheepdogs Teach Her Important Life Lessons in Her Book “Made for A Purpose”

The Christian book “Made for A Purpose: Lessons from My Sheepdogs” by Debbie L. Cole was exhibited by self-publishing and book marketing company ReadersMagnet at the 2023 London Book Fair. The book trade fair was held last April 18-20, 2023, at Olympia London, London, UK.

Dogs can be one of man’s greatest teachers as dogs can teach valuable life lessons. In this book, Debbie L. Cole shares her experience as a professional shepherd and a Christian. She states that the relationship between the master and the sheepdog is similar to man’s relationship with God. There are different types of human characteristics, and each person has a different purpose or path in life. The author shares the different characteristics each of her dogs has and their approach towards their task.

In “Made for A Purpose,” Debbie L. Cole states that people are aware that God created man and He has a plan for each life. Through introspection, one can find and pursue one’s God-given purpose. She says that it is not enough to know about God and his existence. A person needs to truly know God and have a relationship with Him. Debbie L. Cole sees herself in her dogs’ actions as she serves God. She relates her role as a shepherd and Christian by recollecting some of the Bible verses that touched her. By seeing her dogs, she learned life lessons such as obedience, dedication, and perseverance. Debbie shares that she is a visual learner, and through her dogs, she saw God’s answer before her.

Debbie Cole draws from her experience as a shepherd, sheep owner, dog handler, and devoted Christian to shed light on how our relationship with Jesus parallels His love for the sheep of this world. She has valuable experience in tending sheep and competing in sheep dog trials and thus possesses deep insight into their nature and tendencies. She is a skilled sign language interpreter and has presented many classes and lectures on this relationship to both Deaf and Hearing audiences. For many years she has spread the love she received from Christ with her husband, two daughters, twelve grandchildren and all who know her.
