“The power of this book is to understand the glory of human intelligence and to understand the Scriptures in spiritual value.” Roger Akerley

Roger Akerley shares his understanding of the Scriptures in his inspiration & spirituality book, “The Sea of Glass: A clear understanding of the scriptures in spiritual terms: self-control, self-learning, and self-understanding.”

The author uses his voice to convey the message of the Scriptures away from the influence of religion. He wrote this book for the graduation of mankind into true spiritual wisdom and for the soul of those people living in righteousness. He believes that there is a balance between human intelligence and understanding the scriptures in spiritual value. People can always have an understanding of the scripture because humans are made intelligent.

“The Sea of Glass” features scriptures from both the Old and New Testaments. He used five books from the Old Testament (Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy) and four books from the New Testament (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John). He goes through these books one-by-one and explains them in comprehensive ways that the readers can understand them. He highlights some words to help the readers get the emphasis of the scriptures and tell them what they should mean.

The author aims for the readers to have a new perspective when it comes to getting and understanding the texts in the Bible. He believes that preachers in churches are teaching the Word wrongly. He hopes that his book will help readers understand the Scriptures and develop a closer relationship with God.

Author’s Biography
Roger Akerley was born in 1947 in St. Leonard, New Brunswick, Canada and was the last of seven children. He grew up as a member of the Catholic Church. Due to circumstances of his family, he left school after the fifth grade and went to work. He came to the United States at 17 years old in 1964. He has read the Bible for his entire life, and he has always had the feeling that anyone, regardless of their level of education or ability, could learn the true meaning of the Scriptures for themselves. In his lifelong struggles of learning, he has had to learn the English language as well as adapting to a new country as he became a US citizen. He believes that the Lord has revealed the true meaning of the Scriptures to him, and He has asked him to inform mankind of this understanding. He has accepted this responsibility for the purpose of increasing the knowledge of humanity. The sacrifices of both learning this great wisdom as well as passing it along to the human race are what he has humbly endured as his gift to his fellow man for posterity.
