Ed Goldfarb’s children’s book “Sopo Hatches” will be displayed by self-publishing and book marketing company ReadersMagnet at the 2023 Los Angeles Time Festival of Books on April 22-23, 2023, at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, USA.

The 2023 Los Angeles Times Festival of Books is an annual free and public book fest hosted by the University of Southern California. The event is a haven for authors and readers to sell and discover published books. The book fest also caters to book vendors and features the works of both amateur and professional authors. Since 1996, the book fest also holds events such as author panels & discussions, performances, storytelling, and the Los Angeles Times Book Prizes for competitive authors. The event has since drawn approximately 150,000 participants from all over the world yearly.

Ed Goldfarb’s “Sopo Hatches” is a story about a growing frog named Sopo. The tale begins with Sopo’s mother laying a batch of eggs in a pond in the Amazon Rainforest located in Eastern Peru. Along with the bunch are Sopo, who is a lover of the rainforest, and the animals around her. The story resonates with the importance of respecting one’s parents and siblings, the fun of going to school, good personal hygiene, and taking care of the environment.

The book features illustrations and simple words that target boys and girls ages three and up.

Author

Eddie Goldfarb is a Miami, Florida native. While attending the University of Miami, he received an appointment to U.S. Naval Flight School. Upon earning his “Wings of Gold” and commissioned as a Navy Fighter Pilot, he was attached to Attack Squadron 15 aboard the USS Forrestal flying the A-4 Skyhawk a light fighter-Bomber and the same plane flown by the Blue Angels and featured in the first Top Gun Movie. While in the Navy, call sign, “Fast Eddie” he accumulated to 225 day and night carrier landings. After the Navy, he had a brief two-year stint as a Miami-Dade County deputy sheriff followed by a 15-year career as a Director of Advertising and Sales Promotion and buyer for several Fortune retailers. Leaving his advertising career in 1990, he became a very successful 33-year Realtor. Eddie and his wife Roxana live in Hollywood, Florida and have three children and six grandchildren.
