She is the executive director of the Citizens Awareness Network, a grassroots group committed to creating a sustainable energy future by closing aging nuclear reactors in the Northeast. In 2000, she won the Giraffe Award for sticking her neck out to protect reactor communities. She is retired from social work practice in New York City.
