San Diego, CA – WEBWIRE

These mountains and streams were his playground.

Rod Zoske brings his readers into his childhood playground in “A Wilderness Journey: Planes, Pack Strings and Perils.

The author introduces his readers to the wilderness where he spent his childhood. As a teenager, Zoske was comfortable being alone as he explored his way out into the world. He spent his life as a teenager in the primitive wilderness of Selway Bitterroot Wilderness, acquiring survival skills that were taught by his childhood friends and learned through experiences.

Zoske used to fish and play in the primitive wilderness, get into trouble, and find a way to grow as a person. His skills for the outdoors were honed by experiencing life along with his friends who encouraged and protected him from harm’s way.

“A Wilderness Journey” talks about two summers that the author spent in the wilderness. These were the summers when he had exciting adventures and challenges he needed to win. The book uses humor and boyhood wonder to engage with the readers, taking them back in time to when the area invited his teenage self to run around and learn things about life.

Take a journey into Selway Bitterroot Wilderness and see the world through the eyes of a teenage Rod Zoske. Revel in the author’s golden time of his boyhood in a memorable wilderness while trying to stay away from chronic hay fever.

Readers can join the adventure of Rod Zoske’s retelling of his past by purchasing a copy of “A Wilderness Journey: Planes, Pack Strings and Perils” on Amazon and Barnes & Noble.

Author’s Biography

The author spent his early years growing up in a small town in the southwest part of Montana. The town was nestled between two mountain ranges that offered lots of opportunity to explore. He and his friends had horses so their transportation into these rugged mountains was available. During these “outings,” either by choice or by chance, many skills were learned and being out in the forests was comfortable for the author. The idea of a 17-year-old boy wanting to work in one of the largest primitive areas in America became a reality.

Young and old can enjoy this story and it is clean! There are a number of circumstances, dangerous, humorous and even heroic.
