Collette Dahl Lorentzen’s “Wilber’s Scary Day!” is a children’s book that follows a dog named Wilber. Wilber is a playful dog that is as curious as a young child. He likes to play, bark, and smell anything new or interesting to him.

Collette Dahl Lorenzen is passionate when it comes to teaching children. She uses Wilber and Oliver as recurring main characters of her Wilber children’s book series. These characters mirror the real-world scenario where children get into trouble when their curiosity about the objects around them is active.

In Wilber’s Scary Day, Wilber’s curiosity gets him into a troublesome day that brings him a valuable lesson he will remember forever. As a curious dog, he uses his long ears and nose to get to know the world around him. Due to his absentmindedness while scanning through the objects and areas, Wilber got lost in a place he was not really familiar with.

In the real world, children can also get lost in their way, and they could have a choice to get scared and stay lost or be brave and use their own curiosity to find their way back.
