“Delighting in Dad” is a memoir about Michelene Pease’s journey to China, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan eleven years after her retirement. The author shows readers how she made her retirement years count for God. She allows her readers to experience her joys, trials, humorous incidents, spiritual growth, and all the amazing things God did for her. This book is for readers who are searching for inspiration on how they might spend their retirement years in a meaningful way.

The eldest among three children, Michelene grew up in the Midwest. She was active in church during her younger years. She graduated from Michigan State University, where, at age 20, she experienced a spiritual awakening; she learned that God was interested in knowing her personally and intimately.

After graduating college, Michelene began teaching for a year. Later, she joined the staff of Campus Crusade for Christ, where she worked with college students and women over the next 15 years. In 1968, Michelene was married. She and her husband adopted three sons. She later gave birth to a daughter. They divorced in 1990, and she returned to teaching. Michelene was told that God would never bless her or use her again. Life became unbearable until God changed it all.

In 2004, Michelene was able to retire at 61. She started taking her journey to China, living among the Uyghur people to teach the children of missionaries. After a year in China, God led her to Kazakhstan where she lived during the next 10 years.
