Earl Robert Key Exhibits Masterful and Motivational Novel at London Book Fair

“Strong Boy, Weak Man” is a novel in the niche of inspirational fiction that tells the story of a boy growing up in poverty-stricken Mississippi to a better life in Memphis, Tennessee. It’s also one of a handful of books in the genre to focus on people with learning disabilities who develop the resilience to overcome it all. The book will be exhibited at this year’s London Book Fair.

“I will always remember that every student has talent and gifts. I will always remember Mike’s prayers of thankfulness every night before bed. I truly believe this book has made me a better person, and I look forward to another miracle book from Mr. Keys—from barely reading to published author.” - Johnna Rocker-Clinton Seattle Book Review

Visitors to the 2023 London Book Fair are sure to find plenty of inspirational publications, whether it’s self-help books or motivational novels. Among these will be Earl Robert Key’s “Strong Boy, Weak Man,” a very gripping piece of inspirational fiction that focuses on a lot of hard-hitting topics.

The story is about a boy named Michael DeAngelo Nicholas, or Mike as the rest of his childhood neighborhood calls him. Mike is raised in one of the poorest parts of rural Mississippi and has all the rough childhood experiences that come with the place. His family lives in a drafty, six-room house rented on the property of a wealthy landowner who is rarely seen by tenants.

At school, Mike is known for poor academic performance and many difficult relationships with teachers. And yet despite it all, Mike is not afraid of sharing his dreams of success. It could be a success as a pro fighter, an athlete, or even a barber. He just dreams of success and has the spirit to keep going for it.

The book goes on to show just how this spirit is challenged, including the exploration of Mike’s learning disability as well as the economic inequality surrounding him. The book unhesitatingly touches on the controversial history of segregation in Mississippi and its impact on African-American families across generations. All of these result in many family hardships and disappointments that Mike experiences as he looks for a better life outside the state.

Those who want to see where his story ends can simply get a copy of “Strong Boy, Weak Man,” authored by Earl Robert Key on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and ReadersMagnet Bookstore. Check out the book’s display at the ReadersMagnet exhibit at stand #6A90 at the London Book Fair.
