Ron Stout’s book “SPIKE!! (Young Christian Women in Sports)” Will Be Displayed at the 2023 Los Angeles Times Festival of Books

Ron Stout’s “SPIKE!! (Young Christian Women in Sports)” is one of the books that will be displayed by self-publishing and book marketing company ReadersMagnet at the 2023 Los Angeles Times Festival of Books. Organized by the University of Southern California, the book event will take place on April 22-23, 2023, at the university’s campus in Los Angeles, USA.

The L.A. Times Festival of Books is a free public event that happens every year at the University of Southern California to celebrate written literature. Every year, the event draws in approximately 150,000 fairgoers from around the country and the world. It features book exhibits, storytelling, performances, author panels, and the Los Angeles Times Book Prize.

Ron Stout’s “SPIKE!! (Young Christian Women in Sports)” tells a story about the Anderson twins, Evelyn and Evangeline, who are big volleyball fans since they were young as their mother was a volleyball champion at the local college. Both poured their passion into the sport. Growing up, Evie and Vangie found a passion in singing with their mother, forming a vocal trio that became popular for weddings, funerals, and church services. Having a career in music means they also need to balance their life with volleyball. This would lead the twins to choose which career pathway to take for their future. The twins’ momentous choice would influence the outcome that they never expected.

AUTHOR

Ron Stout is author of several books including “Westward Ho!” and “Fireflies: God’s Lessons on the Farm.” He received his BA from Occidental College before his Navy years; then after the Korean War rec’d a BTh at LIFE Bible College; followed by master’s work at USC and the University of Arizona. He also worked for many years as a stock broker, branch manager of an NYSE firm, and as an independent registered investment advisor. Ron and his wife, Corinne, moved to Arizona in 1980. Corinne passed in 2020.
