Dr. Freddie H. Gilyard’s “Just People” will be displayed by self-publishing and book marketing company ReadersMagnet at the 2023 Los Angeles Times Festival of Books. The book festival will take place at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, on April 22-23, 2023.

The Los Angeles Times Festival of Books is an annual public event held at the University of Southern California. The event has been deemed the largest book fest as it attracts around 150,000 fairgoers from around the country and the world since its conception in 1996. It is a place for authors, readers, and book vendors to display, discover, and sell books from new-and-coming and established authors. The book event also holds author panels for subject discussions, performances and storytelling for kids, and the book awards ceremony for competitive authors, The Los Angeles Times Book Prize.

The extended family history book “Just People” is a compilation of anecdotes, facts, and reflections about the members of the Glover-Williams family. The book traces the family tree through its history and real-life tales from post slavery to the twenty-first century.

Dr. Freddie H. Gilyard takes the readers back to where the family first took root at East 56th Street in Savannah, Georgia. The data in the book are accurate and backed by thorough, family tracing. This extended family history book also compels the readers through views, opinions, and recollections of the family members.
