Dr. Freddie H. Gilyard’s “Just People” will be displayed by self-publishing and book marketing company ReadersMagnet at the 2023 Los Angeles Times Festival of Books. The book festival will take place at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, on April 22-23, 2023.

The Los Angeles Times Festival of Books is an annual public event held at the University of Southern California. The event has been deemed the largest book fest as it attracts around 150,000 fairgoers from around the country and the world since its conception in 1996. AUTHOR

Dr. Gilyard is the second of six daughters, and a graduate of Howard University, Trinity College, and The Fielding Institute. She is a 42-year retiree of public education, married, mother of four children and eight grandchildren. Her affiliations include Overcoming by Faith Ministries, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Mandingo Socio-Civic Club, National Smart Set, Association for the Study of African American Life and History, King-Tisdale Cottage Foundation, Sol C. Johnson National Alumni, and God’s Ambassadors. She is a Christian who loves the Lord and strives to live what she knows is ultimate. That is to seek God first, His Kingdom, and His righteousness. Dr. Gilyard knows that in doing so, all of her other needs and desires will be added to her life.
